Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 specs leak: 5.9-inch display, Android KitKat and more

Mega 6.3
Almost after a year of releasing its large Galaxy Mega phones in the Indian market, news has it that the company is working on the Mega 2 that will be available at affordable prices.

Benchmarks on GFX bench now disclose a large 5.9-inch display that probably targets a low to mid-range market, unlike the 5.8 and 6.3-inch displays seen in the original device. However, Samsung has maintained the same resolution at 1,280 x 720 pixels.

Going by the benchmarks, the new Mega 2 will come powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the camera front, one can expect a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 4.7-megapixel front-facing shooter. It gets 8GB of internal storage, but there is no word on expandable memory slot yet.

The device will run Android 4.4. KitKat and feature the usual connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. It will also come fitted with sensors like gyroscope, proximity, light sensor and accelerometer.

Apart from these features, not much else is known about the device. The exact pricing and availability details are also unclear.

The new Mega phone  could also mean Samsung plans to introduce a low-end Note-like device range in the budget segment.
